How to Connect Claude to LinkedIn (MCP Connector, 2026)
Last updated: October 2026
Claude cannot log into LinkedIn on its own. To let it work on your LinkedIn prospecting, you connect it to a tool that does, through MCP (Model Context Protocol). With Makelead's MCP server, Claude can search and import prospects, read your campaign stats, create campaigns (with a two-step confirmation) and draft LinkedIn and X posts in your voice, while Makelead keeps your account under a fixed cap of 200 invitations a week. Setup takes two minutes: generate a key in Makelead, then add the server to Claude.
Makelead is our product. The method below works by hand or with any tool; the section "How Makelead does it" shows where ours fits, and every claim about it can be checked on our pricing page and in the product.
How to connect Claude to LinkedIn, step by step
A Claude Skill is a set of instructions: it can teach Claude how to write a good LinkedIn post, but it cannot act on LinkedIn. An MCP connector gives Claude real tools. Here is how to set one up with Makelead.
- Create your Makelead account and connect LinkedIn
Makelead is the tool that talks to LinkedIn for you. Connect your LinkedIn account (and X if you prospect there too) from the dashboard. Makelead applies its own safety limits to every account.
- Generate a Claude key
Open the Connect Claude page in your Makelead dashboard and generate a key. It is dedicated to Claude and you can revoke it at any time without touching the rest of your account.
- Add the Makelead server to Claude
In Claude Code, run one command in your terminal, replacing YOUR_KEY with your key: claude mcp add --transport http --scope user --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY" makelead https://makelead.io/api/mcp. For other MCP clients, use the server address https://makelead.io/api/mcp, HTTP transport, and your key as a Bearer token.
- Ask Claude in plain language
For example: show me my campaign stats this week; find prospects who are agency founders in France; draft three LinkedIn posts about my latest client project; create a campaign for this list. Claude picks the right Makelead tool.
- Confirm before anything is sent
Creating a campaign goes through a two-step confirmation: Claude shows you what it is about to do, and nothing starts until you confirm. Posts are saved as drafts for you to review.
How Makelead does it
- Prospects: Claude can search your prospects and import new ones into Makelead.
- Campaigns: Claude can list your campaigns and create new ones, with a two-step confirmation before anything starts.
- Stats: Claude can read your account statistics (invitations, acceptances, replies) to tell you what works.
- Posts: Claude can read your writing brief (how you write) and save LinkedIn and X post drafts in your voice.
- Safety: every invitation still goes through Makelead's fixed cap of 200 a week and 40 a day per account, whatever you ask Claude.
- Control: the key is dedicated to Claude and revocable at any time from your dashboard.
Manual vs Makelead
| Step | By hand | With Makelead |
|---|---|---|
| Access to LinkedIn | Claude alone has none | Through Makelead's MCP server |
| Finding prospects | Copy and paste profiles into the chat | Claude searches and imports them |
| Running outreach | Done by hand, outside Claude | Claude creates the campaign, you confirm |
| Writing posts | Generic posts unless you explain your style each time | Drafts based on your writing brief |
| Account safety | Up to you | Fixed cap of 200 invitations a week |
Mistakes to avoid
- Expecting a Claude Skill alone to send messages or invitations on LinkedIn: a skill only adds instructions.
- Giving an AI agent your LinkedIn password or session cookies directly.
- Letting an agent send invitations with no weekly limit, which gets accounts restricted.
- Sharing your MCP key: treat it like a password and revoke it if in doubt.
Frequently asked questions
Can Claude connect to LinkedIn?
Not directly: Claude has no LinkedIn login. It can work on LinkedIn through an MCP connector to a tool that does. Makelead's MCP server lets Claude search and import prospects, read stats, create campaigns with confirmation and draft posts.
Is there a Claude Skill for LinkedIn?
Skills are instruction packages: they can teach Claude how to write LinkedIn posts or outreach messages, but they cannot act on LinkedIn. To act (prospects, campaigns, stats), Claude needs an MCP connector. You can use both: a skill for writing style, Makelead's MCP server for action.
What is a LinkedIn MCP for Claude?
An MCP server that exposes LinkedIn-related actions to Claude. Makelead's server is at https://makelead.io/api/mcp, uses HTTP transport and a Bearer key dedicated to Claude.
Is it safe for my LinkedIn account?
With Makelead, yes by design: whatever you ask Claude, every account stays under a fixed cap of 200 invitations a week and 40 a day, new accounts ramp up from 10 a day, and campaigns need your confirmation before they start.
Can I use ChatGPT instead of Claude?
Yes. Makelead's MCP server also works with ChatGPT, so you can drive the same prospecting from either assistant.
How much does it cost?
The MCP server comes with your Makelead plan: Starter €29.99, Growth €59.99 or Business €99.99 per month, with 30% off on annual billing.
